Things to Do in Clearwater Beach, Florida
While Pink Sand Clearwater Beach, Florida may not exist, that doesn’t mean you can’t have an excellent time visiting the Florida coast. Maybe you even consider bringing a pair of rose-tinted sunglasses to give the illusion of pink sand during your trip?
Below we cover some of the top things to do in Clearwater Beach — and we think they’re fun enough that you’ll enjoy them even without any pink sand in sight.
Visit Clearwater Beach
Of course, if you’re looking for sand, there’s no better place to find it than at Clearwater Beach. This beach is known for its clear waters (wonder where the beach got its name, huh?) and warm white sands.
While walking the coast, don’t forget to drop in at Pier 60, a 1,080-foot pier located right by the beach. You can fish off the side of the pier (just make sure you have a Florida fishing license) or catch a beautiful sunrise or sunset. You may even get your fill of pink by watching the beautiful rosy clouds that surround the sunset!
Walk the beach and see if you can find some beautiful shells. Alternatively, bring a good book and watch the waves crash into the shore as you daydream about sands that look just a little more colorful than the ones that surround you.
Enjoy Sand Key Park
Another great place to visit in Clearwater Beach is Sand Key Park. This park is an excellent choice if you’re visiting the area with family, as it has a wide variety of amenities. And while none of these amenities include pink sand in Clearwater Beach, Florida, we think you’ll have a fun time regardless.
Upon arriving, you can head to the playground with your little ones or the dog park with your favorite fluffy friend. The park is also known for its beautiful salt marsh, which allows visitors to enjoy local nature and wildlife, including nautical birds like herons.
The park comes equipped with restrooms and outdoor showers. Additionally, lifeguards are on duty during the busy spring and summer seasons, making it a great beach to swim at if you like that extra bit of safety.
See Some Sealife at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium
Cap off your trip to the area with a visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. This is a great option for wildlife lovers. During your visit, enjoy learning about the aquarium’s rescued dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and pelicans.
Or if you want to get out as close to the action as possible, book a guided boat tour through the aquarium. Here you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Florida coastal wildlife, all while the wind blows through your hair. In addition to motorized boat tours, the aquarium also offers kayak tours.
